Hi, I’m Alessia! I am an English-to-Italian translator and subtitler specialised in audiovisual content and accessibility.Since 2019, I've been working on the Italian version of films, TV shows, documentaries, reality shows and DVD extras for major streaming platforms, agencies and studios.
I hold a BA in Linguistic Mediation (University of Padova), an MA in Audiovisual Translation (City, University of London), a Certificate in Subtitling for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AVT Masterclass) and a Certificate in Audio Description Writing (Civica di Milano / Netflix). I am also a professional member of SUBTLE – The Subtitlers’ Association (UK).
I help production companies, localisation agencies and entertainment professionals bring audiovisual content to Italian-speaking audiences through clear, natural and culturally appropriate language.
I create standard subtitles, monolingual closed captions (CC) and subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) working with EZTitles, a professional subtitling software. I also provide time-coding, spotting and complex conform services.
I write Italian Audio Description scripts for the blind and visually impaired following industry guidelines.
I localise websites, apps, UIs and social media posts adapting to cultural nuances and preferences.
I translate synopsis, metadata, main and episode titles, key names (KNP) and descriptions tailored for OTT, film and broadcast.
Linguistic and technical quality control of subtitles and audio description script. Proofreading and editing of text translation to ensure quality, accuracy, formatting and style.
